before and after

When you are deciding whether or not you want to sign up for Nutrisystem, one of the first questions that may come to mind is whether or not their meals are any good. As someone who has subscribed to their meal delivery diet program several times over the years, I can tell you that the food is good, but perhaps more importantly, their meals help you lose a lot of weight when used correctly.

With that in mind, let’s take a quick look at the plan options, and then some of the meals you can expect to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Nutrisystem Plans

We cover the plans in full detail a number of times on the site, so we’ll keep this description brief, so we can get to the food that you’ll be enjoying. Basically, when you sign up for Nutrisystem you have three main options to choose from:

  • Basic
  • Core
  • Uniquely Yours

The Basic is their most affordable plan, Core is their most popular, and Uniquely Yours is considered their premium subscription service. They also have options for diabetics and vegetarians. Ultimately, all of the plans are pretty affordable when compared to your typical trip to the grocery store, but you’ll have to decide which fits your dietary needs and budget.

To put things in perspective, with the Basic plan Nutrisystem is going to pick all of your meals for you, from a selection of their most popular foods. Uniquely Yours, on the other hand, give you access to a fully customizable menu that includes 150+ choices, and the Nutrisystem frozen line of meals, which are considered to be their premium foods.

When we describe the meals below, it’s important to remember that if you want to enjoy their frozen options you will need to enroll in the Uniquely Yours program – the extra dollar or two per day that it costs is worth it, in my opinion, because the frozen foods really are a nice option.

The Meals

Your meal plan on Nutrisystem is going to look like a pretty typical day, except rather than the 3 meals per day that most of us are used to, you will be eating 5 small meals. This includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus a couple of snacks or a shake. This helps prevent those crashes and intense hunger pains that can often follow a huge meal.

Here are some of the foods you can expect to eat at each meal:

Breakfast

All of the Nutrisystem meals feature a pretty good amount of variety, and breakfast is no different. This will be your first meal of the day, and will include things like:
