the diet dynamo seal of approval

Nutrisystem is easily the most popular meal delivery diet program in the United States, and the reasons are pretty simple, really: It’s affordable, super convenient, and people who follow their plan lose weight.

That said, it will be a new way of eating for most folks, especially for those who are used to eating a ton of food at every meal.

With that in mind, are there any side effects you need to worry about when starting Nutrisystem? Let’s take a look…

The Side Effects of Nutrisystem

First things first – Consult with your doctor or medical professional BEFORE starting Nutrisystem. While their program can probably be considered a healthy weight loss option for most people, if you have a serious medical condition or concern, you should check with your doctor to decide if you’re healthy enough for Nutrisystem.

Now that that is out of the way, let’s take a quick look at a few of the potential side effects you can expect when starting the program.

Feeling Hungry

When you first start Nutrisystem, you will most likely feel hungry the first few days that you’re on the program. That was the case for me, anyway. When I first started the diet, I was used to eating a lot of food at every meal. That typically meant a visit to McDonald’s, Burger King, or another fast food option for every meal.

As a result, my body was used to needing a lot of food to feel satisfied. When you start Nutrisystem, you’ll notice that you get to eat 6 small meals per day. This is great, as it prevents those huge hunger crashes throughout the day, but if you’ve been eating a super-sized Big Mac value meal most days, this is going to be an adjustment – those are just the facts.

That said, it takes a day or two for your body to adjust, and then you should be good to go! By day 3 or 4 I had completely adjusted to this new way of eating, and I was on my way to losing more than 30 pounds – which was pretty awesome, in my opinion!

Any Other Issues with Nutrisystem?

Beyond that, I really didn’t experience any other side effects while using the Nutrisystem program. They don’t have any specific side effects listed on their website, so assuming you’ve talked with your doctor, Nutrisystem should be a safe dieting option for most people

If you’re worried about any potential side effects beyond what we’ve mentioned, then be sure to check with your doctor to make sure you’re healthy enough for Nutrisystem.

Final Thoughts – Is Nutrisystem Safe?

For the majority of people, Nutrisystem is going to be a safe and healthy way to lose weight. On top of that, it’s affordable and super convenient – the deliver all of the food you need to lose weight right to your door! Say goodbye to grocery shopping (for the most part, anyway :-).
